History combined with whimsy! This is a very cool, fine art reproduction from an original charcoal drawing. The gold accents reproduced really well. The original is signed but has no date. Based on the condition of the original paper and the style, it looks like it was done in 1979.

Winfield Scott, (born June 13, 1786, Petersburg, Va., U.S.—died May 29, 1866, West Point, N.Y.), was an American army officer who held the rank of general in three wars and was the unsuccessful Whig candidate for president in 1852. He was the foremost American military figure between the Revolution and the Civil War.

The outer dimensions are approximately 15 15/16″ wide x 21 3/8″ high. The image area is approximately 12 3/8″ wide x 17 1/8″ high. The watermark is not on the actual print.

Unframed prints are wrapped in archival paper and shipped in a heavy-duty mailing tube. Authentic prints have a blind-embossed chop mark plus a unique number. All artwork has been registered and certified with the U.S. Copyright Office.
